James Karthaus, CFP ® , MA

As principal of Nautic Financial Group, Jim is an ardent believer that the need for life insurance should be discerned and implemented through a complete planning process.  Jim seeks to understand the client’s objectives in depth and detail, first analyzing and then presenting options in pursuit of the client’s goals.  His 19 years of fee-based planning experience provide the expertise to work in concert with his Financial Advisor Partners in helping to address all of their client’s financial concerns, not just those associated with wealth distribution and estate planning.

Jim has extensive knowledge in estate planning, wealth distribution, business owner and executive compensation as well as business succession planning.  His experience is fully adept at engaging all parties, gaining consensus of action, and keeping momentum through to successful plan conclusion.

Jim’s licenses include series 7, 6, 26, 65, and 63 as well as life, accident and health insurance, and he holds the CFP® designation. 

Prior to entering financial services, Jim spent 23 years in Active and Reserve Marine Corps Aviation, and retired in 2005 as a Lt Col.  Jim was a Tuition Scholar at Villanova University where he received his Masters Degree in History; with a specialty in American Foreign Affairs.  Jim attended Naval Aviation Flight Training, Pensacola, graduating with Honors on the Commodore’s List for Exceptional Performance, (top 1% of all Naval Aviators).  He received a Regent’s Scholarship to SUNY College at Geneseo and graduated with a BA in Political Science.   He currently lives in Doylestown, Pennsylvania where he and his family are active in the local community.  Jim has been a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Toys and Tots, and various crisis intervention hotlines.   Jim also coaches baseball and Lacrosse for his two sons and is a Cub Scout Den Leader.

 

Larry Sweeney, CFP ®,, ChFC, CLTC, MBA 

 As Principal of Nautic Financial Group, Larry believes the only way to properly advise business, family, or individual clients is after the accumulation of all pertinent information required to complete the comprehensive planning process. The world of financial products is vast and complex, and one or two products or strategies does not fit all situations. Understanding client goals and dreams is paramount to the direction of the analysis and recommendations. In his 14 years in the industry, Larry’s client-centric focus and expertise has provided both clients and financial partners the needed council to address their goals and objectives.

Larry’s retail and wholesale experience allows him to provide significant knowledge and expertise in the individual and family areas of estate planning, wealth distribution, and insurance planning, as well as the business areas of succession planning, deferred compensation and insurance analysis.

Larry’s licenses include the following: Series 7, 6, 65, and 63; Life; Accident and Health; and Property and Casualty.  He holds the following designations: Certified Financial Planner CFP®; Chartered Financial Consultant ChFC; and certified by the Corporation for Long Term Care CLTC.

Larry graduated with a BS in Chemistry from the University of Richmond, and earned his MBA from the University of Wilmington. He currently lives in Garnet Valley, PA with his wife and kids, where they are active in their church and community’s youth athletic programs. Larry enjoys golf, running, and coaching his children’s soccer and basketball teams.
